As we've
noted here for some time, former Senator John Edwards has made his full-frontal courtship of the organized labor vote one of the central pillars of his campaign strategy for the Democratic nomination. While Edwards has secured a
few union endorsements along the way, perhaps his
poor showing at the AFL-CIO candidates forum held in Chicago earlier this year is finally catching up with him.
Instapundit links to an
New York Times blog noting that earlier this week, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) leadership met to discuss endorsements for the Democratic primaries and declined to choose.
Linking to those posts,
Vodkapundit muses:
Now that we're in an age that the UAW caves to a weak entity like GM in just 48 hours, what does a union endorsement really mean?
